It seems as though the attention of the tech world has been focused solely on the activities of Apple in recent weeks, and the keynote at which OS X Lion was The Launchpad feature of OS X Lion is something that Mac users have been looking forward to and Windows users have eyed somewhat jealously. Now, using JumpPad 2, you can enjoy the same ease of program launching in Windows.
The program is particularly useful if you have a large number of programs installed as it avoids the need to work your way through an unwieldy Start Menu or struggle to locate the icon you are looking for on an overcrowded desktop. A customizable list of program shortcuts can be accessed by moving the mouse to one of the corners of the screen – you can choose any of the four corners, so JumpPad can be used in conjunction with other apps that are hotspot activated.
One of the key benefits of using JumpPad over other launching tool is the fact that it is not limited to providing a list of shortcuts to installed applications. The app can be customised to look in folders of your choice and show links to any executable files that are found – this means that it is ideal for making it easier to work with portable apps that you have copied to your hard drive.
JumpPad is a simple replica of Launchpad, and it has been fairly well implemented. If you have a large number of programs installed you may find that there number of icons displayed is a little overwhelming, but with some careful folder preparation, this problem can be overcome.
You can find out more and download a free copy of the program by paying a visit to the JumpPad 2 review page.

Personally I’d prefer it if you could trigger it with a keystroke or function key because most of the corners I use for stuff, like Change Tab, Close Window, Start Button or Send All Windows to Back. If this is possible then it would make an even better launcher!
